He told her that either she could wait outside for us, or that if she agreed, she would be searched. But he warned her that once she went inside, there was no turning back - they would search her no matter what. She thought for a minute, and decided that she wanted to stay with us, so she agreed. He told us to wait in the lobby and he told her to follow him into another room down the hall. She did, and when she walked in she saw three burly men dressed in guard uniforms. Carl closed the door and left the room, leaving her there alone with the men.
